Condolences for Sichuan Earthquake Victims

The death toll rose to 32 thousand as of 2:00 p.m. 18 May 2008 while the number of the injured reached 220 thousand from the powerful 8 magnitude earthquake in Sichuan May 12, 2008.

A condolence book has been opened in The Commissioner’s Office of China’s Foreign Ministry in the Hong Kong SAR starting from 19 May 2008 (Monday) 10:30 a.m. – noon; 2:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m to mourn those who died in the earthquake. Members of the public are invited to sign the condolence book to express their sorrow.

The Better Hong Kong Foundation has expressed its deepest condolence to the victims in this catastrophe by signing the condolence book. Foundation members took action today include: the Foundation’s Trustee: Special Assistant of Chia Tai Group Li Xu-Hua; Council Members: Vice Chairman of Techtronic Industries Co Ltd Roy C.P. Chung, Executive Director of Kowloon and Motor Bus Winnie Ng, Chairman of Roseville Group Joseph Yu, Deputy Managing Director of Hip Shing Hong Mr David Fong, Executive Managing Director & General Manager of Hsin Kuang Restaurant (Holdings) Ltd. Mr Woo Chu, Thomas, as well as Executive Director Karen Tang and Manager Ms Brenda Wong of the Foundation.
