The Foundation, together with the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences (SASS) and Shanghai Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CCPC), organized the forum on “Economic Transformation and Collaboration between Shanghai and Hong Kong” on 11 October 2013 aimed at further promoting collaboration between Hong Kong and Shanghai. It was the eighth annual forum that was jointly organized by the three organizations. This year’s forum was supported by the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, Shanghai International Economic Exchange Foundation and Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Shanghai. More than 200 experts, scholars, government officials and entrepreneurs from Hong Kong and the Mainland attended the forum. The Chairman of Shanghai CCPC Mr. Wu Zhiming, the President of SASS Prof. Wang Zhan together with the Council Member of the Foundation Mr. Matthew Lam officiated the opening ceremony of the forum.

The Foundation’s Council Members Mr. Philip Ma, Dr. Raymond Leung, Mr. John Lee, Mr. Lee Yuen-hong, Mr. Andrew Yao and Mr. Dario Pong; Executive Director Ms. Karen Tang; and guest Mr. Bankee Kwan also participated in the forum. On 10 October 2013, a visit to Lingang New City was organised for participants from Hong Kong, visiting Shanghai Electric and Shanghai Maritime Museum.
