From July 26 to August 3, the winning teams of the Secondary School Category from the 17th Hong Kong Cup Diplomatic Knowledge Contest embarked on an exchange and study tour to Beijing and Shandong Province. In Beijing, the students visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where they engaged with the Ministry’s spokesperson Guo Jiakun and held discussions with young diplomats, experiencing the professionalism and confidence of Chinese diplomacy firsthand. They also visited the National Museum of China and the Museum of the Communist Party of China, and toured the Xiaomi EV Hyperfactory, gaining an intuitive understanding of the innovative vitality of China’s high-tech enterprises and the thriving development of the new energy vehicle industry.

Following their time in the capital, the delegation traveled to Shandong for a study journey that blended cultural heritage with natural beauty. In Qufu, they visited the Confucius Temple, the Confucius Mansion, and the Nishan Sacred Land, exploring the ideological origins of a millennia-old civilization and experiencing the elegance and charm of Confucian culture. In Tai’an, they ascended Mount Tai and watched the live-action night performance The Grand Ceremony of Fengshan on Mount Tai. In Weifang, the group visited the Museum of the Former Site of the Weihsien Concentration Camp for Western Civilians to look back on a historical chapter of the War of Resistance. Moving on to Weihai, they boarded Liugong Island and toured the Museum of the Sino-Japanese War and a theme exhibition on national security, deeply reflecting on the nation’s historical journey from weakness to prosperity and strength. Upon arriving in Qingdao, the students visited the Navy Museum and the Haier World Home Appliance Museum.
