On 12 December 2025, the Foundation hosted a luncheon discussion for a delegation of experts on the US and Chinese economies. The discussion entitled, “The Future of the US-China Economic Relationship”, followed the 17th Annual GW China Conference, organized by the Institute for International Economic Policy (IIEP) at the George Washington University (GW) in partnership with HKU’s Asia Global Institute (AGI) and Centre for Contemporary China and the World (CCCW).
Led by Steve Suranovic, Director of IIEP, the delegation consisted of experts in trade, finance, and globalization, including Greg Chin, York University; Mary Lovely, Peterson Institute and Syracuse University; Warwick McKibbin, Peterson Institute and Australian National University; Kyle Renner, IIEP and GWIKS, George Washington University; Alexandra Rivera, IIEP, George Washington University; and Barbara Stallings, IIEP GWU, Schwarzman Scholars – Tsinghua University, and Brown University.

Chaired by the Foundation’s Working Group Co-convenor and Corporate Sponsor Dario Pong, the luncheon featured a briefing by IIEP Assistant Director Kyle Renner, who shared key takeaways and issues for further discussion from the 17th China Conference. The subsequent discussion was moderated by IIEP Director Steve Suranovic.
