On 4 November 2020, the Foundation together with Shanghai Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences (SASS) organized a virtual discussion forum where experts from Hong Kong and Shanghai discussed and exchanged views on a report entitled “Enhance cooperation on Shanghai and Hong Kong shipping leasing business and the development of an international shipping center”. The Deputy Chairman of the Shanghai CPPCC Mr. Zhang Endi also joined and spoke at the virtual discussion forum. By the invitation of the Foundation, Prof. Anthony Cheung, former Secretary for Transport and Housing of the HKSAR Government; Mr. Willy Lin, Chairman of the Hong Kong Shippers’ Council; Mr. Sunny Ho, Executive Director of the Hong Kong Shippers’ Council; Prof. James Wang, Research Director of the Belt & Road Hong Kong Centre; Mr. Gilbert Feng, Deputy Director of Hong Kong Shipowners Association; and Ms. Carine Truong, Director, Aviation of NWS Holdings Ltd shared their insightful views at the event. We have also invited several Hong Kong businesspersons who are now residing in Shanghai to share their prospective on the discussion subject.
